Greensprawl
04:30
|
|||
Folding gates,
Plowing through homes like hands through sand,
an awesome, deep green sprawl
Gushed, time lapsed, cross the land
South of Frankenmuth
From the murk
Of some black unnamed pond it spawned
A lush unyielding crawl
Over red roads and beyond
It hits its bloom of youth
Overturning
Good ol’ trucks with foul decal
Waylaying hybrid cars
It cuts through the interstate
Towards it’s port of call
Bristly moss,
Thick leaves and tendrils twine from vines
Engulfing Pottery Barn
Then Coach & Le Creuse
Consuming Birch Run Mall

Miles in the wake,
The path is but a part of crumpled weeds,
Tread by the stalker of a dream that leads
Enchanting him with all that he might take
Then, closer back
That line reads bold and steady, straight, and narrow
And widens where the dream proposed a harrow
‘Cause sickle simply wasn’t going to hack
Who will pull the mask off of this dream?
And show us when these really aren’t moonbeams?
Dispel the lessons of our movie’s themes?
Who will pull the mask off of this dream?
The trail we trace
Splays out here and evicts flora and fauna
See where our stalker plucked some belladonna
In hopes he’d finally see his vision’s face
This ravaged ground
We stand upon is etched by the erratic
Stride of our stalker who became fanatic
His beckoning idol nowhere to be found

Contour Rivalry
05:45
|
|||
One day only gusts that hope, that heal, shall leave my lungs
Bear with me
Until then look beyond the fumes that pass my poison tongue
And you'll find a contour rivalry
There is a smog that overcasts and stalls the growing rivalry
Between the contours of what I've become and what I want to be
There are toxins in the air; sometimes I wallow willfully
And sometimes I'm just too tired to squint and see the contour rivalry
One day I'll speak clear and clean with no need to obscure
Bear with me
And I love you all any horseshit you've endured
And for seeing the contour rivalry

Hold on to Your Decency
05:15
|
|||
Your calves get weak as you tiptoe through all the rising sludge
The mayor sold out the city and bought the presiding judge
Now that these pigs have taken charge we're in for quite a muddy ride so hold on to your decency
Well it's a faint and moving bar but you know what you should abide by hold on to your decency
You've moved beyond the consuming awe of what has rotted out
You're gentleness won't erode away because you have thought it out
Now even dogs with chewed off limbs cheer on the dog who eats their own but hold on to your decency
We need you now so hear our hymn when you feel duped, your fashion old just hold on to your decency
Sure we are beasts who hump and bite but choose the beast you want to be and hold on to your decency
There is a darkness, there's a light, and endless shades of in-between but hold on to your decency

The Absolute
04:24
|
|||
In the spaces of the blueprints
Executed with precision
You are hiding never named or
Even reckoned in the vision
Dust specks swimming in the crisp warm lines
that cut the shady room
They live to make that moment then
The next day meet their broom
The absolute will never find you
Though it would just to define you
From sidelines without words we root that if
The absolute did ever land you lying that it knows and planned you
You’ll change again and you’ll evade, again
The absolute
Some forget or overlook you
Or grow to ruin and erase you
Those of us who feel and taste you
Should be careful when they chase you
I leaned in too close to search the world
Of marbling in the ice
And fell into my Rusty Nail
So easily enticed

Don't Make me Say
06:32
|
|||
How do I say how bad I want to turn into a mist?
Afloat with sudden offload of my wanting and my wish
At dawn through dewy meadows not a single blade is bent
Beneath the lamplight, hovering, no more than autumn’s scent
To feel and be felt
Meander and skirt
Not missing or missed
Can’t hurt or be hurt
With nothing to gain
And nothing to steal
Don’t make me say the way I feel
To show me it can’t be made real
That my two feet can’t leave the ground
Is not some great reveal

Beware the Boy
05:26
|
|||
Conquests ID’ed and filed away
He amassed
The cracks to our beloved illusions
His eyes foredawned the endless day
He would cast
On shade protecting lore and delusion
Beware the boy who wrecks the magic trick
Each wonder is a box for him to tick
Once his knife-sharp inerrant words
Leave you nude
He’ll toss you back robe with his emblem
You’ll take his tongue and find the world
That you knew
Can’t be recalled
By then you’ll resemble him
Beware the boy who wrecks the magic trick
Each wonder is a box for him to tick

Awake in the Fortress
05:25
|
|||
3:00 turns to 4:00 and a foreign choir
Of creaking and clicks gossips and conspires
No peep from the God whose comfort I have known
So off with the limbs of the Elm that raps
And in go the mice to the baited traps
You must build a fortress before you can have a home
Tomorrow they’re unveiling the new machine
That clears any fog from what business I mean
The pathway to peace is straight and it’s paved by might

Keeper
05:52
|
|||
Hide or seek
This forest blurs
It’s both of either
I’m running deeper into wild grounds of my
Vast, involuntary keeper
Sweat stinging each tiny scrape
My full heart jogging
The grime that bogs me down is washed off with
Each Alocasia leaf that flogs me
To whatever rite that you see fit
I will eagerly submit
Keeper can you feel my flawed devotion?
Inner patterns that have failed
Turn to dust that I exhale
And I breath back in your new emotion
Joy or pain
These tears I shed
Are both or either
It seems I’ve wept a sea that’s come to be
The cooling ocean of my keeper
